My name is Murray Aitken, and the DVLA just released M417 KEN for auction.
The reserve is £300 (and I can't imagine many people other than myself would be interested in it), so for the money it seems too good to pass up, but i'd really need to space it illegally as M 417KEN before it looked like M AITKEN.
I'd maybe end up getting some hassle from the police with an illegal plate though, so I can't decide if it'd be worth it...
What you think? Yay or gay?

Yeah, to be honest I think you're right. I don't really like illegally spaced plates, so I reckon i'l pass.
I'll maybe just wait for A17 KEN to come up.

What is it you what people to know, your name or that you can buy a personal plate?
I think plates themed to the car rather than the driver is a better thing, can imagine it would add value to a car as well. Like an F40 with the plate "F40"

Its a bit like taking your name plaque off the office door and fixing it to the back of the car, people don't give a shit what your name is, but at least they know your important enough to have a plaque made up

I'd say no as I would assume your name was Ken.

hence why they're called personalised plates, rather than ''let everyone know who you are'' plates.

That's the point, even if his name was Ken or wasn't, people would have the same reaction. There is no point in random drivers knowing your name

No brainer for me for £300.

I've been looking at plates, but realised you need to spend £3-4k to get a decent one.

I'd read it as:
Aight Ken?
Lotus Elise 111R
Impreza WRX STi

I nearly bought T600 LOW for a saxo I had that as lowered 80mm. Funny ones or car related are cool in my eyes, not a fan of names

Agreed. Looks like a perfect plate for you and is cheap enough so get it bought.
