It's sales tax though, not a yearly tax.
Get one car, pay for three.

We pay an environmental fee based on emissions and pay for MOT every second year (starting from the car's fourth year).
Driving a hybrid I'm in the lovest emissions class so pay £60 a year. Something like an M3 is £950 a year.

I think its bad how its based on emissions. Why should a prius be tax free...it still wears the road out...and weighs near on 2 tonne! My car does less damage to the road surface - so why do i pay more when the big, fat, heavy new cars fuck our roads up more yet because they are 'greener', they pay less to use that tarmac!
Thats why our roads are all in rag!
The 'environmental' thing is just bollocks in my opinion. Genuinely pisses me off how they work road tax out.
