i use 15w40, seems less tappety when really hot.

Ive used castrol GTX 10/40 for the last 4 year in my XE I do a oil change every 6 month and car runs fine on it I am gonna give the vauxhall stuff ago next time a think people say its good stuff

I've always swore by 15w30 semi synthetic, oil always seemed to run hotter on 10w 40

I've never had any heat issues runs at about 90 degrees driving and even at long times sat in traffic doesn't go past about 95 degrees

Believe the correct oil is 10/40 as stated.better the quality quiter the engine.

Think ive read your post totaly wrong lol i thought you meant engine temp but reading back i think you mean oil temp gauge? Ifao i dunno what mine runs at dont have a oil temp gauge fitted so it could possibly run hotter

Yeah mate I used a recommended oil from the guy that built luckyb corsa. Once put Vauxhall recommended in which was the 10/40 but found it ran hotter than the 15/30 I was advised
