Bought a domain about 5 years ago and have never done anything with it.
I want some basic hosting which allows me to have email and some basic stuff for now.
Help.

TsoHost or Vidahost; some of the best UK hosts and CS/support on both are brilliant and always happy to help. Also discount vouchers are floating around for both (50% ones for Tso's shared hosting).
As for setup, it's piss simple; if you need help then one of us (myself included) on here will happily help

Turns out it's actually already hosted with TSOhost and I've been paying for it for 5 years lol.
It's with their lite hosting package.
What do I do, I can't see how to change things

Just login into cPanel with your hosting details (you will have had an email from Tso with them) and from there you can create mail/Pop3 boxes etc.
As for the website, it's just a case of FTP'ing (use something like FileZilla, address is your domain, email/password same as your cPanel credentials) your site across. If you need to create one then Wordpress is your best bet and you can install it relatively quickly going through the Fantastico wizard (from within cPanel). From there just follow various tutorials on the Wordpress site, such as theming etc.

I think I'm being a retard. I can't login to cPanel with the details I have, keeps saying login failed.
I can view the client area but that's it.

Your cPanel details are different to your Tso login details. If can't find the email then either drop them a call or drop them a support ticket and ask for them to be reset and resent.

So they've sent you your cPanel details (usually the cPanel username is a variation of the domain name)? And you still can't login?
And you're also accessing cPanel via www.(yourdomain).com:2082 or www.(yourdomain).com/cpanel?
Either the details aren't correct or you're entering the details in incorrectly - if copy/pasting make sure you're not copying spaces and passwords/usernames are case sensitive.
Edit - Alternatively just phone them up; they've always been extremely helpful when i've dealt with them in the past.
