I know this is possible on old cars but is it possible on a Corsa? Fished my first Corsa out from behind the garage today & noticed the back arches were fucked, so worst case scenario the whole floor might have to come out. I'm thinking about replacing the floor if it's possible because the car has a straight body and plus it's got a lot of sentimental value to me.
My plans are to buy another Corsa with a solid floor & cut it out, cut out the possibly fucked out from my car & weld in the good one. Is this actually possible without the car collapsing or ruining the rigidity of the car.
And please, no "why bother?" comments!

fair enough you have some sentimental value for the car but is it really worth your while? i had a bit of sentimental thoughts to my old corsa but it was going to cost too much time and effort to fix the rust so i bit the bullet and bought the fresh shell i re shelled into for very cheap and went down that route. yes what you want to do is possible and you would probably have to brace the car for strength while you do it but think hard if its really worth it on such a cheap and easily replaced car.

Been thinking about it for a while & I reckon it is, plus the experience will help for when I get around to building a rally/race car.
It's not easy to replace over here cause they're mostly rotten, so you've to go into the north or England to buy one, bring it back & pay at least €500 to change the plates. Aren't out government wankers!

Would be less effort to switch chassis numbers I think this maybe a bit wrong though

I've heard of buying brand new floors for Mk2 Escorts but do Auto Vaux sell brand new ones for Corsa's?

Cause I'm planning on welding in a cage & if there's plates all over the place it'll not look good. Might need to do it tho with the arches if Autovaux don't have them.

Why does the car have so much sentimental value? Just because it was your first car? And you'd get a rust free Corsa as easy as you'd get one in England, there weather isn't any better than ours

Cause it was the last project my Granda worked on before he died, don't really care too much that it was my first car but for that reason. If Granda was still about I'd have sold it by now. 
And aye, that's true, lived there for 4 years! haha But they've not as much salt air, that's the difference.
