just wondering if i need 2 head gaskets 1 either side of the decompression plate??

and also do i need a programable ecu? or would it be possible to get it live mapped with the standard ecu??

if there is anything else that people would like to add in then PLEASE do!! i have never worked with a turbo before so please bare with me im trying to research as much as i can

You won't be able to get the standard ecu to work with it. Stand alone like Omex, Emerald etc are the way to go.

Using a de-comp plate you will need to use 2 gaskets.

A more reliable way, would to use low comp pistons if they make them.

As for the ecu, you will need aftermarket management.

Might also need larger injectors

I thought Luke ran standard ECU? Pretty sure he didn't have a standalone? But can't be sure, it was a loooong time ago.

From memory, most "tuner"s used a 5th injector and 3 head gaskets for the compression. He also ran a Mantzel box and it was around 180bhp with about 6-7psi.

Video, about 4min 30. Ran a 1.4 16v (f13) gearbox and it pulled to the limiter (6600rpm, 117mph) pretty quickly.

Different car, same setup.

Obviously you'll more then likely need a different exhaust from Standard if you already havnt got one

Thanks daimo!! I've asked a few people and been told the 5th injector isn't required so still a little confused! Ill be running a decompression plate with a head gasket either side to lower the competition ratio, and yes pridzz ill need to get a turbo back exhaust system! thanks lads, anymore help clearing up this 5th injector would be great!!

A 5th injector would be used to help with extra fueling at high rpm as i can`t see it required for start up as the ecu can be programed do deal with that.

Fit megasquirt it's way easy and cheap, then you can use bigger injectors.
5th/6th injectors are shit.
Won't need to touch the comp ratio and easily run 10/12psi with some decent mapping.

I've had a good read and I've just found something on PnG, people are saying if you use a stand alone management then a 5th injector isn't needed? Also your able to use the c20xe cream injectors to get abit more fuel. I don't know a lot about turbo's or the turbo conversions but this seems abit more plausible and with like DTA management I should be able to run on 4 injectors??

As said, just get bigger injectors and have a good mapper set it up. Then you won't need a 5th injector. The best thing you can do is establish who will be mapping it, and having a chat with them. They'll be able to give some advice and you can find out what management they prefer working with.

Nope, was a chap in his 50's who lived on the Isle of Wight, work was done by cough cough Regal...

Used a T25 turbo, 75 shot of Nitrous, and a claimed 225bhp without the Nitrous.

Found a pic of Lukes in the vid I posted also.

Oh, someone said about cream injectors, that also rings a bell in the conversion too.

May be worth giving Courtney a call (if they are still running?) so see if they can offer any advice.
