Looking at getting a Corsa c exclusiv. Been to see 2 already and both had mayo on the oil filler cap. Is this a common fault on the Corsa cs? Also is it expensive to get fixed ? (head gasket presuming) And is there anything else to look out for ?

Sometimes you can get abit of that in the oil cap from it sitting there.

Watch out for wet footwells (carpet) too.

If you're looking at pre-facelifts then the gear linkage is a common fault (i've just recently had to replace mine) but it's a reasonably straight forward fix.

The repair kit (what they call it) is around the £60 from Vauxhall and it'll take you about an hour to do if you know your way around a tool kit.

Might be worth seeing if the MasterFit £40 voucher offer is still open as you can use that towards the cost - it's what i ended up doing and it costs me £22 (odd) all in.

Edit - If it's facelift then you should be ok, as from what i'm lead to believe Vauxhall used the newer version of the linkage (uses metal rose joints rather than plastic ball joints).

Wouldn't worry too much about the mayo, more than likely just condensation.

Both mine have had mayo never a problem as said condensation if its loads and there is oil residue in the water tank then worry but a small amount on the cap is fine. Had my first one 3 years and no matter how many times you cleaned it off it'd be back in a couple of days. Short journeys make it worse to buy nothing to worry about, never had any problems with either of mine although I think my steering rack might be starting to knock not 100% sure but it's just a hack any way

As said, it could be condensation or it could be the head gasket. I'd steer clear of one with mayo on the oil cap personally.
