ET49is for the Corsa, ideally you want ET45, or ET42 at the very most

ET38 will cause you problems with your arches if your lowered more than 30mm

I see well at this exact moment im looking at some 17" et 40s. They look as though they would fit using willtheyfit.com which seems pretty accurate?

The problem is they are 7" wide which means the offset has to be lower to bring the wheel out away from the strut.

I have ET38 17's on my Corsa, lowered 60mm and needed loads of arch work. I would of thought ET38 in 16's would be similar.

From memory (from near 10 years ago) people used to fit 17's @ ET45, lowered 60mm, and just tiger sealed on their arches (rears mainly), rather than use the standard bolts which meant the wheels wouldn't rub

If I was you, I'd go for as close as you can to ET49 - ET42 or ET45's are a common size IIRC

I have these on coilovers and the rear was fine dropped a lot so the top of the tyre was under the arch not sure how far in mm it was but looking at other people's cars probs 60mm and had no issues at all even with people in the back. The fronts are a slight issue though as they were catching due to needing 5mm spacers to clear the strut adjuster and has to raise it due to catching the inner arch guard. I now have it around 40mm on the front without any issues. I can send you pictures if u want so you know what it looks like

there ya go mate thats an old one i had the back lower than that and didnt catch. The front caught slightly on the plastic arch guard on big bumps. Its raised up slightly now and have no issues. Id say im still about 40mm drop on the front and around 50mm on the rear but like i said its on coilovers so dont know exactly sits nice
