I'm researching local tattoo artists for my sis and came across this picture:



That looks absurdly crisp to me. Is there a chance this is a fake?
Usually with crisp line work there's at least some minor beauty flaws, which makes sense, given the medium.

My concern with the work being TOO perfect is, that he might have photoshopped out any defects.

Also at "Mamma" in generic font and 10x at the existing tattoo.

Looks genuine to me, he seems to do simple old school style designs with thick outlines, I'm not a tattoo artist but id imagine its easier to hide a blemish

Every tattoo looks 'crisp' just after its done. It wont look like that after its healed.

Who in their right mind would get that tattooed on them ? If I had that old tattoo on me I think I'd be spending the money on amputating my arm off rather than getting another neater but equally as shit tattoo at the side of it

Looks real, won't heal that neat though.

Can't get a sense of scale of it either, looks quite thick to me so not to ornate and detailed.

Looks genuine to me, also if you look closely at the letter 'a' on the tip of the end there is a little blemish on it, and it does look fresh too by the way the ink is showing, and the redness on the skin around it.

It looks like they are in the process of having that one removed using the cream method, hence why it looks like that

Yeah it is. That's not outlined then filled in. That's just one needle a letter at a time then dip for ink and an other letter. Needle sizes vary, RL1 - RL15! Then there's shader needles, etc

When I say one needle it's 13 small needles, to make up one needle if you get me, the more needles the thicker the line. I've had a 28 needle on a spade tip to do shading lol
