Got a Lexus GS300 that we want to get back on the road. It has been sitting in the garage for around 9 months but will be turned over soon to get it out the garage and warmed up etc.

Any advice on what to do before we turn the key? As in anything we need to check?!

Battery will be placed on a trickle charger overnight so will be fine.

check all the fluids..... thats prob the only thing i'd do.

Some folk drop a little oil down the bores (tiny amount) to help keep it all nice and fresh.

If you are worried about priming it, disconnect the CAS (or plugs and injectors) and turn it over so it wont fire. This will get oil round the whole system.

on a run of the mill car it should still start fine after 9 months.... but it would be a good idea to top it off with fresh and take it easy for the first tankfull

Check fluids and kick it in the guts.

Youll soon know if it was fucked.

Yeh check oil/water, then give it a try. Let it tick over for a few mins let pressures build back up in everything and go for a drive.

No need to check anything, turn the key with the accelerator flat to the floor and keep it there even when the cars started. Should bounce it off the limiter for a good 10mins before going for a drive..

I bought a C16SE Nova GSi engine that had been sat for 10 years in a smashed shell in a garage.

Put a new belt, plugs and oil in/on it, and it fired first go. No smoke or rattles. And it went like fuck!
