Suprised there getting £41 an hour labour rate.
As Andy said suprised there repairing it but insurance companies can be odd. Will be cheaper than paying you out on the long run.
Have you got a full estimate of what there doing by any chance?

Really it should get written off and used a s a grass track racer. Unless he's had the car from new and he's attached to it. I mean, it's not like there's none left on the road. Or in any Vauxhall showrooms for that matter.

Its really just an expensive bodyshop, not a big repair at all

I know a lot of manufacturers (ford in particular) offer all sorts of incentives not to write off cars at the moment. So also it could be going into his insurance companies approved repairer . . Or even worse there own body shop.
I certainly wouldn't say the quote was over priced tbh. Looks average for a high turn over insurance based shop

very surprised they didn't write it off. i would have understood if the bodyshop was recommended by the insurance company, as they'll be working together.
but to get an independent bodyshop doing that amount of work and the insurance company being happy to pay it, makes me wonder why?
will they only write car's off if repair cost is 100% or more than market value nowadays? as andy said, i thought it was always around 70%.

Very similar damage/repair to my Missus' Corsa D when it got rear ended. She got shunted whilst sat still in traffic and then she got punted into a Micra in front of her, so front end repairs needed too.
They fixed hers, almost £6k again - but it was only 6 days old
Dealership insurance ftw.

Usually around 60/70% Ben depending on companies. Airbags also write a lot of cars off these days.
Should have also wrote that one off Kyle, with it been so new.
