Turbos are the issue on the hdi engines, major issue. I've not come across a huge amount of petrol problems really.

A Turbo is a perishable item imo, replace like wheel bearings

just a quick update
got the head back with the new cam cap, its absolutley amazing




tool for locking the cams and the crank also came


and a bag of goodies from bmw


new valves



Head cleaned, steamed and prepped


New oil valve seals


Everything set out ready to go back into the head


Cleaned before it went in


Nice clean work bench to build the head on


And as always progress stopped for the next car


Plus this will be in next week after its been painted for a couple of bits

Great work. Was going to say the pic with your thumb up your hands look too clean for a mechanic

I keep trying to force myself to ware gloves so that was probably just after a glove come off haha

I know the feeling. That's why in trying to ware them more though. It's Saturday. I've had a shower last night cleaned the car today and will have another shower tonight. Yet my nails and the creases in my hands are still black as the night.
