Bought my house and finally in my rare days off I've been starting my little project

The conservatory will be getting pulled down in the next 12-18 month for an extension!

First job was to remove the tree

Shed has gone and the paving slabs have been taken up (23 of them)

So now my questions to the great cs community how do you build a good garden wall?
As you can see the wall stops and it's fencing then to the edge, this isn't my fencing but I want to build the wall to the edge of the garden so how deep do I have to dig? (the wall is around 2 meters high) also once the hole is dug do I just pour concrete in or do I need that steel grid stuff? And what's that for?

Cheers guys

There's a bit more to it than just someone telling you how to do it, have a look on YouTube for ideas. Lots of different factors like width of the wall, conditions of the ground etc can you actually lay bricks neatly?

It's not too hard once you've got the knack.

You can't go 2 metres high with a boundary wall without planning permission; 1m for a wall or 2m for a fence with permitted development rights

You won't need rebar especially as its seemingly not retaining anything; I went way over the top with the stability of mine but it is holding back an entire hoisin estate!!

I thought you could go 2 meters high when separating properties, planning told me if it was facing a road then I'd need planning
