Ok, I'm a little puzzed.

Fitted my rear springs today on my GSi, I bought them as 40mm gmax springs but it literally hasn't lowered at all!

I'm at a bit of a loss, it's really not a complex system on the back is it so is there anything anyone can think of that would be keeping it sky high?

Back end is full of interior etc so not super light.

Still on the standard shocks.

Did you buy ones 40mm specific for the gsi? Cause as far as I know gsi and sport models were 20mm lower than standard anyway, so that 40mm becomes 20mm if that makes sense

Are they brand new?

I put new ones on the front of my car recently and it barely did anything but let it settle for a couple of weeks and it's come down nicely

Ian, think the back axle is different on early Gsi's, this is mine with -60 back and -30 front

and this is same car (after being made track ready)with -100 back and -60 front.

trial and error mate!

Can only assume they must of been springs for a 1.2 or something, seems very odd.

It was honestly no different to standard, not even a mm lower

All sorted now anyway

I swear the sports and gsi were lower, my sport was lopsided when I got it and took the springs off and one was 20mm lower than the other, looked Into it and turned out both were standard part numbers but one for a sport and one for a 1L lol just my experience though

Yes gsi's are 20mm lower standard. Not sure about sports but gsi definay are 20mm lower so the 40mms now turn in to 20mms
