Little bit of an update, rang the insurance and just kept getting passed on to different people, so went and paid for the car myself out of the police impound and im getting the locks changed myself. May cost a bit now but will save me getting screwed over by the insurance.

Problem is all calls recorded etc - he will prob get notified of his premium increase at somepoint (all recorded calls are attached to the policy)

Don't tell your insurance company your be looking at 10-20% increase at renewal
