I'm putting my plate on retention, never done it before, normally just swap it over to each car. But I'm going to be changing car quite frequently in the next few months so don't want to keep paying £80 .... Anyways I'm going to put it in retention for two years, if I want to put it on a car in that time do I have to pay £80 or is the transfer fee kind if included in the retention fee?

As far as I'm aware the retention fees includes the cost of putting it back onto a car

If you pay £105 you don't have to pay to transfer it to another car

As said. It's £80 for straight transfer as you have done before. £105 to put on retention (basically the £80 for transfer and £25 for the retention) if after a year you don't have it on a car it's £25 again.
If you go to put it on a car at any time it won't cost as you have already paid the £80 transfer in the £105 if you get what I mean.

Wouldn't bother paying for 2 years retention, just send a £25 cheque each year it's off a car.
