I had Nankangs on the back of a nova a few years back, nearly killed me twice. I'd go for Uniroyal's.

Same on the back of my Astra. Both of them blew out on me.
Out of that choice I'd go for the Uniroyals. But personally I'd go for Toyo Proxes. Have mine about a year now and done 15k on them, still a fair bit of life in them too. Only cos £130 for a set of 4 in 195/50.15. Well impressed by them.

Yeah. Got them off camskill but they no longer have them. Still some other places doing them for sub-£150. Epic tyres. Not amazing in the wet but far from scary. Dry grip is insane

Uniroyals are in a league of their own in the wet in that price range.
T1R is rubbish in the wet and OK in the dry.
Put it this way, when it starts raining you don't have to change your driving style because the uniroyals have so much grip.

he has a point though, toyos are shite in the wet, if you've ever drove on rainsports in the wet you'd know what he's on about

i cant recommend T1-Rs enough, had various sets on my MX5 for four years, ok so they wet grip is limited if pushing but i know that and drive accordingly, which does create a lose back end on some roudabouts...so epic  all round
in the dry i cant fault them.
i've been round Castle Combe, Malory Park and Silverstone for 15-20minute sessions with no issues
Bedford, Stowe (infield circuit at Silverstone) and Rockingham on Open Pit Lane track days and they dont give up easily, i run out of talent (and brakes) way before i have concerns over tyre condition...
edit: that said i have UniRoyals on my Corsa and never felt uncomfortable in the wet, they are exceptional in that respect

I had Toyos on the Fabia.
May as well had rubber bands for grip in anything other than blistering heat.
Work brilliantly when heated up, but if not, they didn't grip for shit.
Got Nankang NS2's all round, much better.
Although people said the Toyos wear easily, I got 20k out of mine!

You're running nankangs and avons, you obviously don't know what good grip is like :/

Different tyres work for different applications. a tyre that works on a corsa might not work well on a BMW or a mini.
