So the Mrs has finally upgraded from her N8 which was on Simplicity.

She opted for the HTC One through Carphone Warehouse. She's a ditzy bitch so needs insurance.

Apparently Carphone Warehouse aren't comissioned based so they advised their Geek Squad insurance. The main reason she went for it was because although you pay a premium, it is almost no questions asked.

The premium is £15 per month. But the way the premium works is 2 payments are due in September!

This seems extremely excessive.

Is there any insurances people recommend for someone? O2 themselves? Endsleigh? Bank account?

Any info on hassle free insurance would be great. I know Protect My Bubble are notoriously bad for paying out.

£15 a month is a lot of money to insure something which can be replaced for £300.

Does your bank not offer mobile or gadget insurance ?

Most seem to do it for a small fee along with loads of other stuff.

Deano - Like everyone else, i've got mine insured through my bank account; might be worth seeing how it'd cost her to do the same. Alternatively have a look at house/contents insurance and seeing if they'll cover it ie - gadget insurance etc.

Heard they're absolutely shocking at paying out.

And Dom

She's cancelled the Geek Squad direct debit and contacting Halifax tomorrow.
