As you do... I picked this up recently for £700 2002 vectra c Sri, clean in and out, 56k miles few irmscher bits, spax coilovers and a stainless scorpion exhaust (6months old) bought it from my brothers mate with an intermittent non start and abs T/C lights come on and dials stop working. All down to the shitty CAN system! So one abs control module later (£25 off eBay) it's all running perfectly!

Private plate isnt mine unfortunately but its a nice car altogether just pretty dissapointing power wise for a 2.2.. Only 147bhp

700 quid for that Bargain.

I'd sell that grille on and get a standard one put on.

They are dire performance wise, no low down power at all, I'd have another one though. Is that all they need if they have an issue with starting?

Not the only problem I'd imagine early vectra c's suffer with the CIM units failing. Mine just happened to be a dodgy abs control module if it wasn't for the shitty CANbus system on them I'm sure their would be a lot less faults!

The book might say 100k, real life says otherwise.

Plenty have been known to snap at half the recommended interval. The new kits use a different chain tensioner.

I work in a garage so it's not an issue, no signs yet, no noises so that's good enough for me.

That's fine then.

But bear in mind you don't get much of a warning.

They're nice cars. I picked one up for £425 last week on an 05 plate. Only a 1.8 but nice enough car only needed a rad. Then a wiper blade and washer jets sorting for mot
