Friend of mine is being stalked on twitter by someone that has made a random account just to abuse them.

Seems to know everything about them and it's getting a bit creepy.

I have an IP address but can anybody help if some kind of location or name or anything from it?

If it's that bad, it's a matter for the Police. If it's stupid childish shit....just tell them to fuck off and block them, and any subsequent accounts?

IP will be useless unless it is a fixed IP I think.

Doing a WHOIS on the IP would return the ISP and you could use a GEOIP db to potentially get a location, although it's usually wildly inaccurate and at best gets you to the nearest town etc.

As said, if it's serious then report it to the Police or contact their ISP. Otherwise just block the fucker (HERE).
