A 'fun' university project that I need some help with!

As part of a group given £100m to invest with, i got £25m to invest in GILTS.

Only thing is, I know sweet FA about GILTS.
Anyone recommend any???

Gilts usually refer to UK gov bonds, are you limited to UK ones, or can you invest in any countries bonds?

Then your choice is already limited and the only choice you have to make is which maturity to go for.

Have you been given a strategy to follow or can you decide for yourself? The maturity that you choose will depends on how long term the investment is.

Just that the game will end in December.
We can include income from them and dates are calculated by working back 6 month increments from maturity.

Gilts only pay a coupon every 6 months, so in the real world if you invested £25m today, by December you wouldn't have anything yet.

Yeah, I got stuck with the shit stuff.

Other people got £25m to invest on the FTSE100 and commodities.
