Surely it depends on the circumstances?

I would imagine people that just can't manage money and keep running out can't claim them back. But if you genuinely go overdrawn by £1 accidentally as a one-off then you probably have a case.

A legal challenge will not be upheld however if you have financial difficulties and can prove it with your income and expenditure then you may receive frozen interest/fees.

If it's your first one or very rare they might but it'll probably vary a lot between banks.

I phoned up about a late payment that came up over a weekend once, and the bank just refunded it when they saw what had happened.

Was easy enough. Suppose it depends on the circumstances of the charge.

Depends who you bank with but I know with Halifax I have set up text reminders if the balance goes less than £0 so I can transfer some money in during the day to avoid the charges, might be worth looking into?
