If a woman had a 12 inch intruder in her glovebox that was one of them chrome ones ( ) would they get done for it because lets be honest - theres no real purpose for having it in the glovebox other than a lewd act......

Im using it as an example, but it isnt always so clear cut - sometimes things arnt so simple and although no harm was intended, a suitable explaination can not be found.

well then if youve really let yourself in for it that much it will be down to the court to decide, the Police are not judge and jury, we will just put people infront of the courts and they make the decisions.

He recons, because of the nature of his job that he wont get done for carrying these....any one clear this up for me?

Exactly.

It would have to be some sort of power trippin copper who would arrest you for having a fooking MagLite in your car.

And how can a 2" torch be classed as an offensive weapon?!!!! You could choke on it I suppose Surely your car keys themselves could cause more damage!

This post makes me

Well done Joff, on resurrecting a thread over a year and a half old!

I wonder how the recent suggested changes in "defending your property" will affect this Act, then......using reasonable force to defend your property, in my opinion, would include bashing a would-be thief over the head with a Maglite or crook-lock.
