thought id share my project on here, bought it a few weeks ago cheap. was found locally lying in a garden so i made some enquiries and a deal was struck, at the time i was running my corsa sport daily but tbh it was slightly rotten, however i loved the power and electric windows/pas but didnt want to splash out on a shitload of welding so i put it on gumtree and sold it within 2 hours. on way home i picked nova up,
drove home perfectly. also came with some history old mot's etc

yeah it needs some tlc but its only done 22k from new and is quite rare in silver and for a k reg mk2 is really solid.
1st couple mods where a baileys header tank and gsi dash swap with momo steering wheel

next up was some coilovers, just budget jom's for time being

next up was turning my attention back to interior, black rear quarter and boot trims, black parcel shelf and modified calibra leather was fitted

had a spare drivers gsi seat subframe sitting so it mounted onto the calibra leather seat, still needs some modding at the rear to be 100percent secure

next up was an astra gte digi dash as i love these

next plans are some small welding repairs are needed for mot as is 2 front brake hoses, ive got braided ones sitting but ill upgrade to 2.0 or v6 brakes while im at it, needs a new thermostat, alternator playing up aswell. hopefully over next few weeks al have new alloys and undecided what im doing with exterior.
deffo finishing this one as its insured

wee update on the nova, picked up a 16xe motor, f13 gearbox but going vlean it up, maybe give it a rebuild at college
got a lightened flywheel to go on, going give it a light port and polish, powerbox, 4-2-1, full system and remap ecu see what power it gets...
got some cesaros
fancied a change so got slabs and sri seats for cesaros
started fitted new brake flexis and pipes on front
bigger brakes are next, fitted new rear wheel bearings aswell
and got some 8k hids and white side lights

well hope everyones having a merry xmas!
thought id update my thread since im quite bored
yesterday i painted the axle, drums and rear springs
also stripped some calipers so i can refurd/tidy them up. got discs and pads to buy also.
also picked up a tony law c16xe 421 manifold should go nicely with my peter lloyd 2.5inch system
and a pic of the engine, bought it back off a mate
needs some welding done just after new year and maybe picking up some rare 16" inch vectra twinspokes. mot as soon as its welded and brakes are sorted

quick update on the nova front
was fed up off the crap fitting off the ebay special coilovers so swapped them for spax springs and shocks, turns out to be 40mm but i'll get it lower soon
bought and fitted some 2.0 brakes
also fitted a euro foglight, speedlines aint mine however im trying to get them
then whilst waiting on brake hoses coming i stripped my engine
also found out its a c16xe early gsi engine, found the codes was over the moon with that
so took head in to college yesterday and got the valves out, going port and polish and get the head skimmed
so after searching for a few hours i found a c16xe loom and ecu online so bought them and a gsi bumper, just waiting on them ariving along with a cavalier rear ARB

I had one of these, c16xe nova. had a full btb/sbd exhaust on and a opd inlet on, went very well.

i had a x16xe corsa and wasnt too bad wiht powerbox, hoping nova will be quite fun. should be ok for parts donn3r.

It'll seem a bit livelier in a nova as they weight less. 2.5" was perfect I found,

another wee update
1st up some engine work....
wee mock up
block got painted blue
started some diy porting at college on the exhaust manifold ports 1st
c16xe loom arrived but need a injector loom for it or can i use the same colour'd plugs/wires from a later x16xe injector loom?? also rear cav ARB
got some gsi door cappings fitted them
my gsi bumper, got the tow eye cover too
and last up managed to get some wheels
just need to order drivers side rear arch, and got a replacment door then its off for some paint.
looking forward to getting it stripped down soon for prep

thought id best update this today... took a while to sort the pics out there though lol
since id got the gsi bumper it needed painted so quick going over with the rattle cans
painted the boot grey along the bottom like a gsi would have been
and whilst i was at college i got the valves back into my head for the c16
and got home to strip the engine bay ready for the conversion,
then got the head home and mocked everything up in the garage one night
dug out what else i needed for conversion, clutch, 8v flywheel, f13gearbox, gsi shafts, fuel pump and exhaust front pipe
up she goes

box ready with transducer for digi dash and needed for speed sensor

engine in and back on wheels

got most of engine built up...
some pics of new parts, top end gasket set, timing belt water pump
head back off
head back on started on engine loom
belt etc on and timed up
started on wiring, hate this aswell lol
got it all built up, new plugs, leads, gm oil, oil filter fitted and fresh coolant aswell
just need a fuel pump to fit the internal tank, got it turning over got a spark aswell and fuels getting to rail, new coolant temp sensor fitted also, also new wheels astra sxi 16s instead of the fanblades
