Have you tanked or treated in anyway the drywall before you've tiled in the bathroom?

No just tiles on, grouted, shower all sealed in etc and left for 2/3 days to make sure everything was set before shower was turned on.

Not had it valued yet no, still little bits to finish that I haven't got round to
Going to get it done in next month or so, although one on opposite side at bottom of street (number 16 I think, only a small street) recently went on at £123,500 and sold within a week, mines much more modern and nicer inside, only advantage they have is a garage. That's also an end terrace, and the one next door to it (mid terrace) crap gardens, and old inside went on at £106 and also sold within a week. So I estimate mine to be worth somewhere around £120k. But we will see when I eventually get it valued

Well had this house just short of 2 years now so had it valued yesterday.
I paid £88,000. Spent roughly £12,000 doing it up.
One valuer said £135,000. The other said £139,950!
Made up with that, no plans to move really, like it here. Getting married next year so all is going towards that. And then maybe spend a few £k in the garden.

Yep! Going to be able to drop some years off and be cheaper, then just going to over pay each month to what we have been paying anyway.

The problem is - the more your house is going up by the even more then next step up the ladder is. i would prefer my house to gain no value at the moment as in the last few years the next jump up the ladder has probably gone up by around 30K.
The only time its good is if your an investor or down sizing.

True, but its also reassuring that your investment isn't losing money.
Our house appears to have increased in value by at least 75k in 5 years, which i'm happy about, but as you said, the next step up is now massive, which means i'll be moving further out to get more for my money.

Just in the process of remortgaging.
Borrowing another £6k to do the garden in the new year. Knocked 9 years off the mortgage. And saving £25 a month happy with that

Agree with moving to the next step.
Looking to put ours on the market but the prices have gone up considerably for the ones we are looking at

Yeah I got mine valued with the intention to move. But getting married in 8 months so not a wise idea at this moment in time tbh. Plus don't want the stress of doing up another house and a wedding on the way too.
