Are all the shells the same or have any of them got reinforcing that would make them more desirable?

Post 97 shells were supposed to have the internal mod to stop the b-pillar from cracking due to where the seatbelt mount is positioned.
I have seen a few (not alot) post 97 shells with the cracks, but they could have been in an accident.
Mines post 97 and mine is spot on.
Pre 97 do seem to be common with the issue.
Hope this helps mate.

i do remember seeing a receipt in the pile of old papers with my first ever corsa b and it was recalled at some point for something done on the B pillars/seat belt area... cant remember exactly now, that was a post 97 envoy. but other than that and the above iv never heard that before...
did a bit of searching on this myself as i was trying to find out if a povvy spec shell or even a pre 97 shell weighs less but they all about the same really

I'd say things possibly changed from the 8v stuff to the chain 16v stuff.

The later post 97 shells had extra strengthening fillets on the cross member and B pillar strengtheners to prevent cracking.

yeah, sorry, forgot to mention that.. the rubber mount sits inside the chassis leg on post 97's.. shite idea that though (engine once fell out while driving)
