Hello all what brake setup would be recommended for a 1.6 on throttle bodies running 164bhp? I have the option of 14" and 16" wheels. But would rather keep the 14" ones.

The big block 256mm front brakes are pretty good, on a XE. So with a decent set of disc and pads with braided lines should be more than up to the job, and not break the bank. They will still fit inside 14'' wheels.

The 1.6xe Corsa runs 256mm disc which is same size as calibra, but calibra disc's are
thicker and have a larger caliper

I have Vectra calipers on front with 284mm fiat coupe drilled and grooved disc's and stud conversion,Back
Calibra calipers, grooved disc's red stuff pads all round and a Nissan Primera GTIR master cylinder to
help stop it
