It's apparently just a china version of cydia, ie just another app store.

Don't see the point in a JB anymore.
Ps. They've remotely disabled TiaG now, still wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

There are a few reasons to want to jailbreak i.e. Teathering on plans like Tesco or GiffGaff.
I used to jailbreak but don't any more as most of the bits I wanted are now there as standard.
Illegal apps I would say is still the major reason to jailbreak.
AppleTV jailbreaks - that's a totally different ball game. Loads of reasons to do that.

If you are jailbroken you can mess with the game files easily so can normally add a massive bank balance to your character etc. Not sure about opening additional levels though.

Tethering on giffgaff will still result in you getting emails telling you not to do it.
The number one reason people still want to do it is piracy.

Tethering is fully supported on the £10 1GB tariff. They even tell you you need a jailbroken phone lol
Obviously on the unlimited its not allowed.

Id love to jailbreak my phone, but sadly a lot of apps disable themselves if they detect the phone has been jailbroken (i.e banking apps), so its a no no for me now.

Forgot it was allowed on the non-unlimited bags. I moved from them to Three last month as was fed up of rubbish internet speeds, they've become too popular compared to a few years back.
