I had a 2.0 CDTi SRI estate. It was slow, badly made, the interior felt cheap, it didn't feel comfortable at speed, the seats gave me backache on long journeys, it was utterly shit on fuel, it depreciated a fuckload and it makes people who love Vauxhalls get all defensive.

My mates got one and rates it. I'm buying one given it's about the best large diesel car you can get with less than 40k miles/4 years old for £7k.

Don't envy the people who paid £20k for them 3 years ago but that's Vauxhall for you.

I like the facelift. Been in an SRi diesel one.
Looks very American now due to caddy/GM/one vision car company and seems quite a nice car.

But doubt I would ever buy one.

I liked my 1.8, I found it comfy, well built and refined. About the same speed as a Corsa GSi and loads of room.

At this is different to the first Vectra (after Cavalier) how?

I'd say they're leagues above family saloons of previous in terms of refinement.

Saying that, I'd have a Ford Mondeo

My cavalier was better on fuel and felt better at speed in all honesty.

I had a 160 diesel for 4 months. It was quick enough, refined and miles better than the cars it replaced.

I'd have another no problem.
