don't know what I'm looking at tbh when I'm buying this stuff, but i need a decent cad/graphics rig. needs to run solidworks, 3ds max, edge cam and cs6.
so far I'm looking at either this i7 and this i5 but not sure why the i7 is so much more and if its worth the money?
and this nvidia but not sure if theres better for the money?
also needs to have wifi and would like to keep costs as close to £700 as possible (not including monitor and keyboard etc, already got that)

I got an i7 950 for about £400 a couple of years ago, its good as gold, never missed a beat, It's a Dell XPS Studio - people slate Dell, my Dell laptop has been thrown, dropped, porned out, abused and its still perfect and thats 6 years old.

I'd just see what refurb dell with 3 year warranty you can get with that as usual, probably a Precision.

changed to this graphics card, which is certified for 3ds max http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0049TWCTU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
allows me to go to the i7 processor for £650 so the same spec as that dell but £60 cheaper (if you include delivery)
