i've got a heatsheild bolted to the engine for the manifold and another wrapped around the exhaust lower down, as the exhaust goes under the engine.

do i need to the one that is wrapped round the exhaust, i assume it protects the exhaust from being scraped. the reason being cause mine has rusted and snapped and rattles alot when i pull away.

i took that bit off mine, but the bit that was rattling was the lower than this, it was wrapped around the down pipes that go under the bottom end.

i dunno if 1.4 8v have em, i don't think i had it on my last corsa - 1.0!

btw in my last post i said it sounds smoother! i meant it makes the engine souynd more healthy when i pull away and that.

The 1.4 8v does have them and it is the bit at the front of the engine. Normally has a tube coming out of it going into your airbox.(Unless you've got an induction kit)

i ain't talking about that!

i meant just this bit of metal wrapped round the exhaust, don't have n e wires or ne thing coming out of it!

its a heatsheild with silencer stuff inside it, i think it just protect the downpipes when you hit something like a kerb if you bump up it or sumin.

it ain't a mod or any thing, i just wanted tot take it off cause it rattled alot when driving making me sound like a tractor or sumin.
