Focus or Astra of you want something newer.
VAG if you want quality but don't mind age.
BMW if you really don't mind age or mileage.

Why do you use your heating on sunny days?

5k will get you a 30k diesel Astra or 308 Sport.
Decent enough cars, had both in Petrol. Got shut of the Astra on 94k and never asked for anything. Pug is on 47k and asking for nothing. Don't think the Astra even had a cambelt done.

Are you a complete retard
Both my cars may have had a petrol engine, yeah. There are more factors i have kind of pointed you to. Lets point just a few of them out.. The petrol and diesel will use the same suspension, brakes, wheel bearings - all that kind of good stuff. I have had no issues with any of these.
I also pointed out what he is likely to get for his money.

Diesels usually have different suspension springs to compensate for the extra weight on the front end.
Just nitpicking though, as you are correct. Will be basically the same bar the engine.
