Just thought i would share this clip of my Astra testing some aquapel rain repellent
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uanxgou0CUQ
Its excellent stuff, this vid was taken over 2 months after application. You can see the rain still just flies off the window screen, didn't even need to use wipers (although they do help obviously)
can see the effect much better if you select HD
Can hear the v6 growling away when i hit the loud pedal too

G-Techniq G1 & Gyeon View still win though G1 is still just about holding on in there on my van 20k miles later, Gyeon View is 4 months in on my M3 so far and beading as it did on day 1.
Car sounds great though!

It's a conversion - no production Astra G had a V6

Nope the didn't come with v6s Jambo. Ive done a full project thread on the conversion if your interested.
Given the engine fits just fine, and sounds awesome. I think vauxhall should have done a limited edition run with them in. Would have been a good rival to the golf r32.
I used rainX at first, and agree its good stuff but wasn't happy with it not lasting long enough.
This aquapel stuff is used on planes apparently so not surprised it lasts alot longer.(up to 6 months)
Ive not tried any of those products Rich, i might give them a look

Do you find the G1 smears much? I've used rainx a few years ago now as got given a free sample. Although it hardly lasted it did do a good job, however it used to smear really bad. Resulting in always having to wash your windscreen, seemed to make the point of using it void.

Nope doesn't smear at all - is quite different to the application of Rain X in that it's a 2 stage process:
1) Polish with G-Techniq G4 polish
2) Apply G1 sealant (1 coat on side & rear windows, 3 overlaid coats on windscreen)
3) Remove with G2 residue remover (or IPA)
The initial polish stage is vital, and ideally clay the glass first too - it's surprising how much crap builds up on the glass over time, and all of this will contribute to sealants smearing and or failing if it's not removed before application

Sounds like good stuff rich. I actually gave my windows a going over with some body shop panel wipe to get rid of any oils etc that had built up over time first. Then used the rotary polisher with some g3 cutting compound to remove some scratches . Worked a treat.
Bonney it was the m62
Svm
I got it from Costco ,came in a pack of 4. Can't remember how much it was sorry. Had a look in the Liverpool one and they had none left too . If any spots it in another costco let me know......I want some more !

The V6 soundtrack is 1 of the main reasons i can't part with my Vectra. With a cone filter they sound incredible.
