Previous owner installed it. Outside tap is there on other properties and he moved it into the garage. Looks proper rubbish. It's going to be re-routed through the side of the house once the pavings finished.

Another tonne of type 1 put down and raked level. That makes 6 tonne. Think i've over engineered this

Seems level enough with around 100mm depth (50 brick, 50mm sharp sand) in all but the corner nearest the door, so will just get a couple of small bags to make that level.

Getting compacted along with the sand and blocks hopefully on Sunday.

Btw saw the postman today. I took the temporary path up so I could level the area undetneath them and he would not walk on the gravel he chose instead to balance himself on the border blocks and almost fell into next doors bush. Silly sod.

Sand down:

Pattern going down:

Getting there:

And 99% done:

Unfortunately the wacker plate cracked a few of the light grey blocks which was rather annoying, so that's getting sorted tomorrow.

Certainly looks better than what we had before:

Oh and i'm also looking for ideas for a fence/railing between mine and next doors front.

Currently have some small border fencing to go back there but they look rubbish. Either a picket fence or some black railings could look good i guess?

Literally just finished! Managed to get everything level and replaced the cracked blocks. Had the wacker plate going until 7pm. Bet the neighbours were well pissed off

Fine sand down and spread. Will brush it over again tomorrow and hope we have some breeze to get rid of the rest.

Made a right old mess of everything. Including the missus' fiesta luckily she's away so doesn't matter.

Going to seal it this weekend to give it a nice dark finish and to stop any staining.

And finally...

Loads of room left, so Mr postman doesn't complain.

Was really easy to reverse on to it, although not sure the missus would manage, so may leave mine on it until we sort out a dropped Kerb.

I did think about it Brett, but felt it would be too much of a ballache taking the tarmac up and also having to deal with the tarmac being part of next doors driveway also.

Would've definitely done that if we weren't doing the work ourselves though.

Cheers lads I reckon that tarmac bit would be a pain to do though as theres 2 drain covers and also a small drain in the middle near the garage door on my side :-(

Can't believe how much better the front of the house looks now. Definitely need some form of fencing out up. I tried the small stuff that was there before but it looked pants so pulled it back out.
