So some of you may have seen my last time lapse video that i made involving a Q5 having new pistons and conrods, i did leave some random photos suggesting my next one and i have finally finished putting it together (the car that is!!)
Quick history of the job from what i understand of the situation is this. Guy buys an R8 V10, doesnt drive it, puts it into some sort of storage for 5 years, comes to use it and it wont start. He gets someone out to have a look and they realise there has been a rodent of some description living in the car, They carried out some extensive wiring repairs to both the body loom and the engine wiring loom, but to no avail. The car gets sold as a non runner and brought to us. We find that the wiring for the fuel pumps has been chewed to bits. To repair the wiring the fuel tanks needed to come out, along with the engine.
The video represents around 40 Hours work which was done over the course of a couple of months. Mostly due to waiting for back ordered fuel tank link pipes which had also been chewed
Enjoy

What a mess it made!
I'd definitely forget where bits went after a month! Did you not end up with just one illusive screw/nut/bolt ?

Unbelievable amount of work involved!
Never knew those 2 ovals hid the shittest exhaust pipes ever. Thought they'd be all fancy.

I thought I'd be badly done to when one chewed through my box of bubble envelopes, think I'd cry if that was my car.
Great vid, not sure how much time you spend wondering what's next but from the vid it looks like you're doing the whole job from memory!

That's so cool. "Going for a cuppa" haha I think you earned it mate
I was wondering that too, are you actually following a written process to know in what order to do things, or is it all in your head? So impressive either way. And sounds as fuck.

Was there any bits left over? I always have something left over when I take a piece of something apart, or flat pack furniture, let alone most of a car like that
Proper skills and hard work gone into that, let alone the putting together of the time lapse as well, which mustve taken a fair while as well

For the most part I know how most of these come apart, they arent that bad to work on, its just alot of nuts and bolts. The only thing i was unsure on was removing the fuel tanks so had a good look at the instructions for those.
And there were a few times where i had to take stuff off again because i had forgotton something

The time lapse one is called 'iMotion' and is Free! the editing one is called 'Perfect Video' which is about £2
