Has anyone got any experience of these; would be looking at the 150BHP so aware of gearbox issues. But never been in one or know of anything to look out for.

I know its a bit of a strange choice of car but work is a 500 mile round trip which I have to make 3-4 times a month and the 330 convertible I had was a bit thirsty; but did like having the roof down. Going to be putting 20K on per year easily and these can be had for around £5,000 so not much to loose by racking up the miles.

Parents had one of these, had no end of problems with the roof getting stuck as it was opening or closing.

We've looked after an 08 plate one at work since new. Was 1.8 but it's had a few roof issues. Getting stuck half way up/down a few times.

Oh, you actually have one at mo? Did you buy one again not so long ago then? Sure when I got this one you said you wanted another.

Such a great car. Been thinking of changing, but I kind of like it. Power is plenty and I just love the auto in sport mode

Yeah I Bought one about 3 months ago, but sold it Wednesday (as bought a diesel scirocco; but only after doing some checks finding out it had 100,000 more miles on than the clocks and service book said); I initially bought it because I handed in my notice at work and new job didn't needs as many miles. Then got offered to stay where I am but meant 500 mile round trip every other week as well as other travel; put 7000+ miles on it in that time as was forever at the pumps!! They are soooo nice for the money and had the roof down so much; I really didn't want to sell. Mine was manual but thats what I wanted over the auto to try and get a few more MPG's
