What sort of wireless network are you comparing it to thou John? Business grade or soho/home stuff?

soho grade stuff, best I'm using is an AP900, which although good, just can't deal with being fully wireless.

I know you can do it properly with more money and more kit, but in lieu of that, the powerline things are quite good.

The kit I have suggested is priced low and enterprise grade, lots of good feedback, I believe pow has put it about at his work place also which good results.

Search spiceworks forums for comments, most of them are good.

ubiquiti stuff is very very good. The worse problem I have is having to restart an ap once in a while!

Are you 100% you can't cable in the most part? I've done some listed building cabling before, just have to be a bit adventurous with your cable routing so as not to upset the apple cart.
