If you can't find a decent golf, there is another old school vw that comes in oak green. Not sure if there's another Corrado on CS? Lol

i like both of the cars you posted Nic. If you are able to keep them going and look after the inevitable body repairs then I don't think you can go wrong.

Corrado's didn't come in Oak Green from factory.
Pretty sure it was a Mk2 only colour.

Could well be true, have been thinking of a slightly different green for mine, nearly the same but different.
Was a US corrado i saw in the colour, but i can't find it anymore, not sure it was Oak green though, is there another green that VW do, very similar to oak and classic green.

spending money on a bike instead.
edit, I'm also not convinced its an original 16v on that age, or possibly even originally oak green.

so I've got a space in my garage basically. id like to get something that won't particularly cost massive amount of money to buy, but is also on the edge of being a classic so the value is quite stable. much like my transporter really.

these are just examples of what I'm thinking of. i don't want to modify an engine extensively. I'm ok at doing a restore project, as long as the shell is solid enough to begin with. not particularly looking for anything newer that either of those cars, i don't need masses of power, I'm looking at classic minis as well.
suggestions would be great
I'd go for the Astra Nic. They drive nicely, plus they're roomy and have a comfy interior.
MK II Golfs always feel a little agricultural and undeveloped to me, plus the interior is cramped and looks disgusting and haphazard.
Cosworth Mercedes 190 would be another option. Cheaper than an E30 M3 and not LHD.

That's the best choice imo. You'd only get up with another car sat around costing money.
