I've been trying to get parts from vauxhall and they can't find my plate and say it must be a private plate is there any way to find out because as far as I know it's the original one?

Give them the chassis number and they can look it up..

Failing that text DRIVEBUY plus your reg to 83600.. costs about £3 but it should show you the old plates.
