Ok so just downloaded Handbrake to make have a go at digitising a DVD I have, it's currently running at 100% CPU usage with that and avast running in the background as it usually does.
It's been doing that for the last 30minutes, am I going to fry it

Keep an eye on temperatures (use CoreTemp on Windows) and make sure they don't go too high.

If you haven't noticed, keep in mind the Mini has no optical drive, so you'll need an external one for any future DVD ripping.
They can be had quite cheap, but might be a drawback if you use it regularly, so thought I'd mention it.

Hi Dom,
It did get quite hot. Didnt keep it going for too long was about 1hr 20mins, kept window open for cool air breeze.
Obviously need a new PC.
Mac is in the running but I do like Windows! I have seen a nice Lenovo rig that has i7 3.4ghz and 16gbb RAM for about £600. Seems a good price.

Cheers Alex but yes I was aware, had already looked into the possibility of getting one because my Laptop doesn't have one either. Saw a few different setups via USB for as little as £20. So not a biggie
