Is it as simple as just figuring whick wires no longer plug into stuff and then tracing them back ato their respective plug, and then pulling the pin?

Yes it is that simple, but factory looms are so neat, you'd probs be best just removing the hardware that it used to plug into as opposed to unwrapping the loom, stripping it and re-wrapping it?

You're going to go through all that agro to save very little weight.. It would be far simpler to go for a jog around the block then take a big shit.

What car is this in? My other advice would be to think carefully before you do away with control boxes, on that 206 Pug build a while back Ste took out the body control unit thinking he wouldn't be needing central locking / EM etc. but it also took out the wiper control. Same on a Puma, GEM unit controls a few other things like rear fog latch as well as wiper park which you need to engineer back in if you want them.

caused myself a shitload of agro doing my corsa... it was only using the very basics... months of wiring issues and found out that you cant run a 1.6 16v car loom and have the 1l 12v clocks... (i use them for the rev counter reading accurate on the V6)
ended up pulling a good 51k 1l 12v club with tax and test on to bit just so i could use the loom
i only have ONE wire at the back of the car and thats for brake lights
unless your good with wires i wouldn't waste my time doing it
whats the car for anyway john?

im currently now only using half of a 1l 12v loom with a few very basic bits just chopped out... kept it a simple job and also wired the brown/yellow to an earth with a toggle switch... can flash fault codes at the flick of a switch now
