Yeah but by the time they get the log book, the payment would've already come out his bank...

Do you tell them online now?

I don't have the logbook yet. I taxed it 4 weeks ago online so in play with the new rules.

I'm just not sure how to go about cancelling it as I don't have the car now and your supposed to stop the tax once you sell the car.

I have a feeling they might have already taken Decembers payment though.

What do they charge to pay monthly, is it a percentage?

Think you have to send the disc away attached to a form to claim it back. I did it last month.

I did it online. Didn't need to send the disc back.

I don't have a disc to send back. It's the new tax, so all done online.

Yeah I think it's a percentage of the full 12 months worth.

Cost just over £10 to pay mine monthly rather than paying it in full that's over 12 months I think that's pretty good

Kind of got this sorted. Says to cancel I just need to stop the direct debit via my bank then call them up to let them know the tax has to be stopped.

you cant SORN it as you dont have the new v5 doc ref no, or the V11 reminder. Working in motortrade only other option we been told is to send a letter to the usual DVLA Swansea address telling them the dates you owned the vehicle. They'll do it from that
