Have done all dogs and bitches I've owned calms them down no end!

Yep get him castrated if you haven't already. Certainly calms them down.

That's not correct. It only calms down testosterone related behaviour. Absolutely no guarantee whatsoever it will make any difference. Can also go the other way and detrimentally change behaviour.

But around a bitch on heat? Not really much of an argument that him keeping his balls will keep him nice and chilled.

Deffo worth a rye anyway before trying to deal with behaviour problems. This going off a vet that we seen today.

The issues you're having may have nothing to do with the dog's testosterone levels, and overnight changes shouldn't be expected. So I'd go into it without any expections of castration helping your issues.

But, generally speaking dogs do calm down after they've been castrated. It can on some occasions change their personality though.
