Any one ever had to deal with this? Best thing I've found is autosmart tar and glue remover and an old bank card or similar but it takes ages and very messy. Any alternatives or ideas? Bought a car and has dark tints on back windows and want to take them off but dreading it lol

I removed one the other day took 5 mins, heat the film up with a heat gun then pull it of , then get a blade and scrape it all of , screw fix do a 4inch ish blade and holder for a few quid

Heat gun peel it off then take the residue off with thinners or brake cleaner then just glass cleaner the glass to get rid of smears that's how I do it literally takes mins

Carb cleaner can be very good for removing adhesive residue from glass.
And then Wurth aerosol glass cleaner for the smears afterwards. Best glass cleaner i've ever used.

Thinners won't take paint off if your wiping glass with it on a rag and I use it to wipe overspray off cars it doesn't take paint off unless you put some serious elbow grease into or it's painted in 2k

Carb cleaner and petrol both leave a greasy residue where as brake cleaner will totally evaporate
Agreed on the wurth gear it's great stuff!

Got a splash of thinners on a car once and it fucked the paint. It didn't come off but drasticaly changed the colour. Why use something so harsh when panel wipe would do and have no risk of fucking paint

If you fuck paint whilst wiping window tint glue off the INSIDE of a GLASS panel your a retard IMO,
He asked what's best to use there no right or wrong answer mate just what people have used in the past weather it's panel wipe , thinners , petrol , brake cleaner , tar and glue, a blade it all does the job.

Yeah i didn't understand how wiping thinners on the inside of the glass is gonna fuck the paint, but hey, there are some retards out there.

I thought that first. However most cars have exposed metal around the window, even on the inside of the car.
However thinners should be fine imo

Heat gun then peel it off. Use petrol or thinners be careful near any rubbers on the windows. I find that works best for anything sticky

Thinners won't damage paint as long as you wipe it off reasonably quickly. Used it countless times.

Steam is the best method.
I asked a local guy and he said it's the most efficient way. Even with residues if you heat it up with steam it will wipe off with a cloth.
