Looking to get back into my riding now the weather has got better, just wondering what ideas of which bike to go for as its been a while since I researched bikes. Looking to spend around £1000, ideally id like a full suspension. been looking at a few mondraker bikes, any other ideas?

I've just bought a used Kona coiler fill sus for £350 great bike.. Changing the rear shock though.

I've got a boardman full sus frame I bought for £300 about two years ago never built it up though but I think you could find something like that for a grand full shimano xo drive rock shox sektor up front stock I think. Decent bike for the money..

Not really looking for something spectacular just something I can use to go out and about on. Tor ride on a few tracks and along the cannels

If your gonna spend a grand may as well get quality though. It's not a hardcore bike it's an xc bike perfect for what you want but it's built to last and will take the knocks in its stride. I don't know what the boardman full sus is now but in 2012/2013 it was a grand new.

My brother rides a hard tail boardman 29er and that's quality too. Couldn't recommend another bike

If you want something a bit stronger kona frames are bombproof but that makes them heavy..

If you're just doing trails and canal path, a decent hardball new or used will he far more efficient than full suspension, and you don't need full suspension.

Depends how far you take your riding and how quickly.

I used to ride hard tail and unless jumping I despised it! Even just on small trails. And I never do any jumping anyway now.

I believe you can get lock out rear shocks still I think they were on specialized. Sounds a good idea but I never bothered looking into it

Each to their own my brother loves his and it's a good bike it was just never for me.

I rode a few difficult trails on hard tail it made the climb easier too because you don't lose all the speed from the rear end bobbing about

Where do you ride bud?

I've not had a chance to take this coiler out yet in hoping it lives up to expectations!
