did 1600 miles to and from Nurburg. 162mph on the autobahn (on nav, 175 on clocks) 4 laps round the ring. best lap was 9.45, pretty happy with that for first visit, brakes need some new pads and fluid, would benefit coilovers but not too fussed at the moment as car drives lovely.
wonderful place, future plans are to buy somewhere over there to go to a few times a year and rent out the rest of the year.
Averaged 38mpg to germany, overall finished on 28mpg for the full trip. for anyone who hasnt been do it! great atmosphere, cheap food and accomodation and not as daunting as people make out. one thing you dont realise is the elevation changes, no videos or games give any idea of it.

That's a cracking job you've made of that there, love an e46 in a dark colour. GOt a mega e46 Coupe itch atm, finds can't stretch to an M3 though, likely just be a regular 6 cylinder job. I knew about the subframe issues but wasnt aware of boot floor corrosion. I take it that's a common E46 thing?

I do 2 golfs a year in germany, only just realised my company would pay my mileage to get there and back! Might be an idea for next year!

people say subframe but its actually always been the boot floor thats the issue, just where the subframe mounts to.

Wasn't a fan of black tips until I saw a mk6 golf gti with them at fitteduk. They worked really well

You won't see them with it being black? I had 6holes behind mine, 4 on show and you couldn't really tell.
