Is it possible to split the lower half from the back rest on a front seat?

Pull the seat out the car turn it on its side and remove the plastic but that covers the hinge.
Then remove this nut:

Then remove this clip:

You will see at the top of the first pic there's a small round plastic button shaped thing. That holds the spindle in that adjust the back of the seat.
Turn the seat over on to it other side and pull the handle/spindle out it might be hard but does come out. That plastic button with them be out on the other side. Lift the seat up and pick that plastic button up and put it somewhere.
Then repeat the first two steps.
Now place the seat right way up with the base down.
Fold it forwards and pull the metal out that was held in by the clip it should then seperate

Do it with the seat on a workbench or something if you can. But awkward on the floor

Cheers mate!
Reasoning behind it is I have two seats, one with a good cushion and damaged back rest and one with a burnt cushion but decent back rest.
Hoping to make one good out of two bad
