sometimes its not about getting fitter quicker. its about doing a form of exercise you enjoy. walking is free. you can do it from your doorstep. i don't think there is anything negative about it.
personally I've been enjoying my lunch walks this week so far.
don't get me wrong i should really bike to work and back more, but its just being bothered fish thing in the morning when a van with heaters and music is sat there outside......

So for example, somebody like me that's dislocated my knee 5/6 times should just go running, despite the above and the fact I suffer from shin splints?
That's a good idea, you're looking at only the small picture

This weeks walking stats vs running
Walking - 3.68 miles - 1hr 3 minutes - 524 calories
Running - 3.75 miles 30 minutes - 619 calories
So it's marginally more calories burned in the same distance. Difference being its very tiring running, it's not tiring walking. Benefits, due I marginal calorie difference can only be the time it takes to walk they distance vs running it.
Thoughts?
