I'm getting a new motorbike soon so to ride it home I will need to insure it which will be transferred from my current bike mid year. What do I have to do with my old motorbike to avoid getting any fines? Do I have to SORN it or can I leave it on my driveway uninsured but still taxed?

Cheers

All done. Being able to tax online for my new bike at the blokes house was surprisingly easy, I thought I was going to have to go back next week after visiting PO with the slip

Just asked for the 16digit (I think) number from the V5C new keeper supplement and off it went. How long ago did you try Gary, could be something changed recently? Or did what you were buying have no MOT or something?

It was about 4 weeks ago. All MOTd etc.

Did you use the reference off the front of the logbook?

Was it already taxed under previous owners name? When I sold the Lexus it wouldn't let the new owner tax it until I cancelled the tax that was on it in my name.
