Seeing a super clean 38k miler on Sunday, full leather interior, 17" bullets, aftermarket Bluetooth player, smart as you like; £5k. Sound reasonable? Also, anyone who's had one or knows about them, is there anything I should look out for ir specifically ask about?
What are parts/servicing costs like? Any issues with runflats? Grazie CS x

£5k is top money.
My personal opinion on the mini is they look quirky and the interior is quite a nice place to be but they are fucking horrendous to drive, its like they have deliberately tried to make them drive like the classic version i.e. hard as a rock and really skittish.

..As for what to check for, its a 2005 so the gearbox should be ok.
* check that the supercharger isn't making any horrible noises
* check coolant and oil levels
* Look for oil leaks.

Rattely chain, but is an easy fix to replace the hydraulic tensioner.
Powersteering fan noise, or if it sounds like a hoover when going lock to lock
Fairly solid cars though overall, and I loved the way they drove and the seating position/interior feel.

Just remember a car is only worth what the insurance company will give you for it

Any decent insurance company will match local equivalent prices, I have just shown them a selection on Autotrader before.

That's about the right price to pay for one with that low mileage and that spec
As for common faults
As Dave said. Gearbox should be alright
Check for leaks underneath.
Oil leaks are common. Sump, rear main, crank sensor
Water leaks from the water pump (see my build thread for that pain in the arse job)
Charger will be solid for that mileage.
Chain rattle, ususally just the tensioner. Shouldn't have to worry for that mileage.
Power steering pumps go noisey and commonly fail. Again. Shouldn't be a problem for that year I'm sure they actually modified it to stop it from happening on the facelift.
Bin the run flats straigh away. Handle, drive and feel like shite on them.
If you want power out of it. Pulley, exhaust, intake. Instant 200 odd hp

Other than that, they are amazingly reliable!

Yer but most of that won't be a problem at that mileage. Plus it's a facelift so most of it will be sorted already. They changed a lot on the facelift stuff.
